Wormholes
Close your eyes and picture in your mind the relations among all humans. All kinds of relations, romantic, kinship, friendship but also connections with strangers, the boy at the coffee bar you exchange words with, passers-by you have eye-contact with. All these relations weave threads in the conscious and subconscious memory.
Some relations are strong (mother, father, the great love), others are weaker, others are immediately forgotten. All these threads do have their own intrinsic existence, they resonate through time like echoes and build the matrix for our emotional perception in the present, the way we see and feel the world now. Everything that happened in the past propagates as threads that reach the present into a vivid state of consciousness.
Memory connects different universes, far apart in space-time. Through the threads of memory the recent or far past is instantaneously propagated into the present. Captured by the eye, the events of the present are projected into the future.
The “Wormholes” art show is a celebration of delicate, fragile, powerful or magnificent human interactions, the threads that weave the past into the future through the consciousness of humans, connecting universes far apart in space-time.

YELLOW
In the Yellow video several people – met in Williamsburg, Brooklyn – are filmed repeating my name and surname like a mantra, trying to guess but getting the pronunciation wrong. The exercise highlights the infinite phonetic differences that divide one language from another and represents a request for recognition on the part of the human multitude that meets in a large multi-ethnic metropolis.
Subsequently I used 14 frames, taken from the video, to create the series of embroidered mouths on tracing paper.
