“In its simple nakedness, the pregnant body is a transition point, a crossroads where opposing forces intersect. It is a place of high tension ”- highlights Rosi Braidotti

I focused my project on Nicoletta Salvi’s public performance. I met the Roman feminist storyteller while she sang a piece she wrote and composed entitled La fica (“The Vagina”), accompanying her voice with the notes of a violin, and I immediately felt a special affinity. The text interpreted by Nicoletta contains fundamental elements to describe the autonomy of a female who appropriates her genital organ.
Nicoletta Salvi, in the seventh month of pregnancy, sings and plays, in full nude, some lullabies. The performance took place within a perimeter I delimited so that the public could observe the future mother as if she were in front of a shop window, while behind the glass the pregnant woman repeats her performance in a loop.
